Hope For Haiti, Inc - November 2011- Update
GREETINGS
We want to inform you of the progress being made in Haiti with the HOUSING PROJECT (referred to as MOH 500). We are partnering with Mission of Hope Haiti and our goal is to build 500 homes. Click here to see a short video on our website.
HOUSING PROJECT UPDATE
Update on the first 200 homes:
1. In a recent Presentation Ceremony, 103 families received their keys and certificates to their new homes.
2. There are 3 Haitian crews working on 54 homes that are under construction.
3. Forty-six (46) more homes remain to be built to complete the target goal of 200.
4. Another foundation has committed to build 150 homes, bringing the total funded to 350 out of the 500 promised on this site.
Each home costs $5,500, which included the land, vegetable garden area and fruit trees. Every donor of a home will receive a picture and a bio of the family who receives the home. Donations of any amount to the housing project would be greatly appreciated and will be used for the infrastructure at the site.
The donation options are:
(1) A gift of $5,500 (designated for a house) could be from an individual, family group, a business or group of friends, etc.
(2) A donation of ANY amount designated for the housing project will be used to help build roads, drill water wells, etc.
These houses will be built in partnership with Mission of Hope with Haitian labor. Providing jobs for the Haitians is an important aspect of the housing project.
ADOPTIONS
We are continuing to make progress in completing the adoption process for two Haitian children, Martine and Stevenson, who will be adopted by one of our board members, John Williams and his wife Donna.
BREAD AND LIFE
Bread and Life is a new project to feed, educate and evangelize the families of the 50 children living on the island of La Gonave, west of Port-au-Prince.
END OF YEAR GIVING
