Another Child and an Open Door

Greetings from Haiti—

Hope this letter finds you well.  God has been doing many great things here, leaving each one of us no room to complain about anything.  He is sufficient beyond measure to each of us.

We have received another child into our care! Praise the Lord! Her name is Martine and she is about 5 years old.  She was rescued from the abandoned baby unit at the General Hospital here in Port au Prince when she was only 45 days old and taken into a home for disabled children with nearly 20 other children of similar background.    As we offered to take Martine into our program, the orphanage director has offered to help the processing of Martine for travel to the US.  Please keep Martine and all her paper work in your prayers; that she may arrive safely to a permanent home soon with a God-honoring family to love on her.  She is a bundle of joy, as every time we walk into the room her smile goes from ear to ear.

We have also made further connections in the community here, as we are on the lookout for more of these types of children in need.  Last week we met with the Haiti director of Compassion International, an organization that has been in Haiti for 43 years and focuses on child-sponsorship programs through church communities.  They have been some of the most encouraging contacts. Allowing us to go through their churches to find the kids in medical need, without parents and any other support.   Pray over this relationship, that we would honor God in all our efforts with them.

Bill returned to Haiti Sunday, March 21 along with a volunteer, Brian, to help out while Sarah and Regina spend a few days back in California to catch up on life stateside.  Pray for safe travel for all of our team members.

As you pray will you lift up the following prayer points:

The process we are going through for Martine
The families that will be taking her into their home and family life
Our relationship with Compassion International and their churches
The “mommies” at Mission of Hope
Our team to continue to have God’s wisdom as we make decisions
Safe travel for all of our team members.

We pray blessings to each and every one of you for your prayers and support through this journey.

Because He is faithful and good,
